Adhesive backing on the 12-1275A is a 3M tape that sticks the weatherstripping to a flat, clean and smooth surface. The 12-1275 is meant to slide into an aluminum channel or carrier.

This weatherstripping is often known as 1/2'' slide in weather stripping, even though the backing is technically 7/16''
